Ferrari 355 is considered by many as the greatest sports car ever built. Get ready to see what makes it so special
The Ferrari 355 was introduced in 1963 at the Turin Motor Show. It was designed by Pininfarina, and was the first model to use an aluminum space frame chassis.
The History of the Ferrari 355
The Ferrari 355 was the first model to feature a mid-engine design. This allowed the engine to sit low in the chassis, giving the car a lower center of gravity. This made the car more stable and easier to handle.
The Engine
The engine is located at the rear of the vehicle. It has four cylinders with two overhead camshafts per cylinder bank. Each camshaft drives one valvetrain. There are three valves per cylinder.
The Bodywork
The bodywork consists of a tubular steel space frame chassis covered with fiberglass panels. The front end features an integrated nose cone and air intakes. The rear end has a large tail fin.

The Interior
The interior was designed by Pininfarina and features a dashboard made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) and leather upholstery. It also includes a roll bar and a fire extinguisher system.
The Performance
The engine of the Ferrari 355 produces 589 horsepower at 8250 rpm and 479 lb-ft of torque at 6500 rpm. This power is sent through a six-speed manual transmission with a final drive ratio of 3.9. The car has a top speed of 200 mph and 0-60 mph acceleration takes just 2.8 seconds.
